Overview:
- This is only a task we had to do in one of our lessons called Level design in the Macromedia, but still its important and mentionable for me
- The task was to design a level that consists of multiple layers, bosses, challenges, and exciting elements. For this task, we only had 2-3 months, which meant that the focus was solely on level design.
Tasks and how I’ve done it:
- First, we divided the tasks, which resulted in the tasks for me: mood boards, final sketches, placement explanations, white boxes, and placements of the 3D objects in the scene.
- For the mood boards, sketches, and explanations, we consulted together and worked on them together.
- I then created the white boxes in Unity in a scene afterwards.
- After that came the placements of the objects; since we didn't have much time, we searched for and used these objects on Sketchfab.
- After some placements, I then set the lighting mood and wrote notes as teasers (because we didn’t have time to make frequencies of what quests you get now, what sound is playing now or what animation comes now)
- However, since we illuminated the environment and had to move through the scene, I only wrote a player movement script and a pick-up script
- In the end, as the time constraints became significant, I not only completed the lower level but also textured the two upper levels and added objects
